How we scored them
The Solar Score weighs performance, build, value, safety and warranty. For snow brushes, safety means soft, stated scratch-free head materials. Only one pick here states a warranty term. How we pick explains the weights.
| Product | Solar Score | Perf. /35 | Build /25 | Value /25 | Safety /10 | Warranty /5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chumia 20ft Roof Rake Brush | 9.7 | 32 | 22 | 21 | 8 | 0 |
| TONYINGO 25ft Brush Kit | 9.6 | 30 | 21 | 21 | 8 | 0 |
| OIROIO 32in Extendable Brush | 9.4 | 21 | 20 | 20 | 8 | 0 |
Scores run from 9.2 to 9.8: each product’s point total is placed on that range, so more points always means a higher score.
How to choose the best snow brush for solar panels
Reach from the ground
Reach decides whether a brush clears a roof panel without a ladder. The Chumia rake adjusts from 2.67 feet to 20 feet on interlocking stainless steel poles, and the listing states no ladder is required. The OIROIO brush extends from 26 inches to 32 inches on a multi-stage handle, and its 360° pivoting head locks at any angle. The TONYINGO kit lists a 5-20FT pole in its bullets, with a title figure of 25 FT that conflicts with that pole range. For cleaning tools generally, see best solar panel cleaner.
Head material against panel glass
Head material decides what touches the panel. The Chumia head pairs an EVA foam blade, stated scratch-free for solar panels, with medium-stiff plastic bristles for leaves and debris. The TONYINGO head uses soft bristles stated to protect solar panel glass from scratches, paired with water flow. The OIROIO head uses high-density soft bristles stated to protect vehicle paint and windshields from scratches, plus a serrated ice scraper for thick ice. A buyer clearing panels should weigh the EVA foam head against the soft bristle heads, one with water feed and one that pivots. For panel forms and care, see foldable vs rigid solar panel.
Water flow or dry head
Water flow changes what a brush can clear. The TONYINGO kit connects to garden hoses for continuous water flow and adds a soap dispenser that dispenses cleaner on demand, which suits dirt and light snow on panels. The Chumia head has no water connection in its listing; its other side is a bristle brush for leaves, moss and debris, and its EVA foam blade suits dry snow removal from the ground. The OIROIO brush lists no water connection; it is a dry brush and ice scraper for cars.
Read the warranty lines closely
Warranty terms are thin on this list: only the OIROIO pick states a term, at half a year.
| Brush | Warranty stated |
